Role Summary/Purpose

Global Senior Product Manager - Hardware Monitoring Systems will be an inclusive leader by effectively working with Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, Service, Commercial and other cross functional resources to develop and execute a multi-generational product roadmap for our hardware solutions. The position will manage a segment of the Hardware portfolio from the sensors to rack based monitoring systems to support and strengthen the growth and competitive differentiation of the Bently Nevada product line. This segment will include our primary rack protection system.

Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Global Senior Product Manager - Hardware Monitoring Systems, you will:

  • Accountability for functional, business and financial performance of the Rack Based Hardware segment
  • Leverages competitive information, market data, and margin metrics to develop a lifecycle roadmap for a product/segment
  • Delivers business growth through comprehensive life-cycle strategy that optimizes/balances NPI, Advanced Technology development, Service and Productivity programs
  • Devises proactive approach to link product, software, and service strategy with marketing/competitive profiles
  • Plans and designs platform strategies for short term / long term product positioning and business impact based on market and technology dynamics
  • Defines and leads the platform strategy that allows for speed and flexibility of new product offerings, combined with operational efficiencies derived from platform strategy
  • Proactively drives end of life execution on products or services before margin results are insufficient
  • In consort with Marketing, develops and deploys a strategy for both established and emerging markets based on the value proposition and how it fits in each segment
  • Customer advocates - champion for "customer" as central to initiatives, processes, and development efforts. Drives economic value across a suite of products globally based on customer needs and customer use of based evidence
  • Assesses the technology of the business in a critical fashion and relates it to the needs of the customers and the competitive positions against competitors
  • Ensures that the technology organization is positioned to win by linking the technology strategy to the organization and technical career path
  • Creates winning product/service roadmaps that optimize profitability while ensuring technology advancements are validated with customers and regulatory agencies to optimize speed to market
  • Assimilates and navigates the implications of any regulatory trends and the rigors with all regulations
  • Evaluate and execute plans to optimize asset/inventory utilization
  • Set pricing levels of the products and services
  • Represents the organization in outside discussions and technical forums through presentations and authorship of relevant papers as necessary
  • Participate in Stage Gate product and technology development teams, including documentation as required for gate meetings
  • Conduct all business activities in accordance with Baker Hughes Health Safety and Environmental policies, Legal Compliance requirements and Baker Hughes Core Values




  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 8 years of cross-functional Project Leadership experience
  • Minimum 5 years plus experience in the Bently Nevada hardware equipment product line including sales, operations, technical support

  • Travel up to 25% of the time, as required

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in either design, service or commercial application of controls, protection and/or condition monitoring technologies
  • Previous P&L experience
  • Proven experience in developing product strategies and successful program execution
  • Proven technical acumen in testing and sampling
  • Strong customer relationship skills

  • Proven leadership skills
  • Established internal network in sales, operations & support functions
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with ISO, API and other regulatory standards

  • Six Sigma training or equivalent Quality training
  • Strong business analysis, problem solving, and strategy development skills
  • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration
  • Must be able to develop and present new product business cases, cost/benefit analysis, economic modeling, and resourcing plans
  • Must be able to energize teams at all levels of the organization and effectively balance multiple initiatives
  • Requires high energy, assertiveness, and self-motivated individual to work in a fast paced environment with limited direction
