Role Summary:

The Finance Intern supporting Government initiatives is responsible for all financial activities

related to the Scottish Enterprise grant received for R&D and Training activities within the BHGE

manufacturing center of excellence in Montrose. The role requires an elevated level of interaction

with BHGE internal and external teams to consolidate & successfully submit grant claims &

forecast future claims.

Essential Responsibilities:

•Work with BHGE internal teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, HR

and Finance functions to consolidate actual spend data for projects eligible for Scottish Enterprise

grant

•Prepare grant claim for submission to external auditors & work with internal teams to close out

any audit queries

•Submit audit approved claim to Scottish Enterprise team & work with internal teams to close out

any queries & ensure successful claim receipt

•Work with BHGE internal teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management and

Finance functions to forecast spend data for projects eligible for Scottish Enterprise grant. Ensure

any changes to project schedule are communicated to internal and external stakeholders

•Support internal operating rhythm to monitor Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management

and Finance actual versus forecast spend data highlighting and collating data on any variations

versus plan

•Setup sustainable process for claim consolidation, submission & forecasting to ensure timely

quarterly receipts

•Support Finance & Manufacturing teams to explore additional sources of grant funding in future

Qualifications/Requirements:

•2:1 degree grade or above (or equivalent) predicted or obtained

•Degree/Masters subject related to Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration

•Good written communication skills

•Advanced Microsoft Excel skills essential

•Right to work - candidates who are studying on a visa need to confirm that they are on a tier 4 visa which is valid for their placement and the remainder of their Degree/Masters course

•Interns will ideally (not essential) have: some non-academic/extra-curricular experience - i.e.sports team, charity, employment

Desired Characteristics:

•PC proficiency - Knowledge of Excel, Spreadsheets is highly desired; Knowledge of ERP

systems would also be preferred

•Ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize under pressure

•Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment and embrace change

•Strong verbal and written communication skills

•Strong interpersonal, process management & leadership skills

•Excellent analytical and accounting skills - able to analyse information & identify implications

•Ability to work with teams across different functions across different locations
