Role Summary:

Located in Aberdeen or Bristol, the Commercial Manager plays a key role in the development and ownership of the commercial process for global repairs, conversions, modifications and upgrades. The role requires strong leadership, communication and influencing skills, knowledge of commercial processes, market economics, competitive issues, contractual expertise, technology, and projects as well as the ability to collaborate with and influence key decision makers.

Essential Responsibilities:

SPS Service repairs, conversions, modifications and upgrades are related all BHGE SPS equipment and attached to their associated Life of Field and Aftermarket activities, and can include a broad array of scopes, for which it is key to provide value to our customers. Key accountabilities include developing a globally robust process in collaboration with the engineering, fulfilment, commercial and sourcing teams, construction of standard practices, formulating accurate product or service costing, working with support functions (Legal, Finance, Tax, EHS and Quality) to ensure optimal terms and conditions are included in different types of proposals.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Work closely with the regional commercial teams to assist in the building of winning proposals for repairs, conversions, modification and upgrades
  • Own the global ITO process for RCMU activities
  • Build and maintain extremely close relationships with key functional teams to coordinate the preparation of a detailed cost estimate for the opportunity
  • Liaising with all global service centres and applicable manufacturing locations to obtain optimal cost and schedule information
  • Maintain global overview of service centre capabilities
  • Create and manage all relevant tools to manage RCMU opportunities globally and ensure execution team are geared to deliver
  • Lead the creation and upkeep of standard working practices attached to all elements of RCMU activities
  • Ensure both regional and functional teams are engaged during bid activity and are active participants in the ITO process
  • Assist with pricing strategy working with the Pricing Leader and Sales
  • Where required represent BHGE at customer meetings of all levels.
  • Ensure the equipment delivery schedule is approved by engineering, project management, manufacturing and sourcing prior to inclusion in proposals


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent knowledge and experience or relevant business experience.
  • Proven experience in a similar commercial environment, preferably in the upstream services segment of the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • A bid to win mind-set and strong say/do ratio.
  • Clear competency with commercial models, including excel and database driven cost models and pricing strategies
  • Strong data analysis experience
  • Confident and competent presenter at all levels.
  • Ability to integrate with personnel at all levels within a truly global business environment.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing systems and processes, active site operations and Services organisations.
  • Good communicator, able to successfully manage and deliver multiple priorities for demanding Internal and External stakeholders.
  • Excellent computing skills, particularly Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience in implementing processes essential



Desired Characteristics:

  • Technical background in Subsea Equipment repair, specifically controls equipment
  • Experience and understanding of Operators operations through the life of field.
  • Understands how to create and apply outcome based commercial models.
  • Ability to identify and steer commercial opportunities within a technical solution.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to help build effective processes
  • Proven knowledge and integration of the BHGE Cultural Pillars
  • Certified 6 Sigma Green Belt
