Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Quality Inspector with experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

  • Validate inspection requirements and carry out inspection activities at worksites, suppliers, and/or on receipt at warehouse as instructed by the project Quality team including internal releases
  • Inspection of materials and review of material certification prior to delivery to fabricators/manufacturers;
  • Witness / review of testing activities (e.g. valve tests, Hydro tests) as stipulated in supply chain and technical documentation
  • Inspection of Temporary Equipment (portable equipment)
  • Review of Weld Logs, Welder Quals, NDE Quals
  • Witness / review of Fabrication, dimensional, NDE, Hydro-testing, load testing and painting activities/reports
  • Review and endorsement of product certification
  • Final Inspection Release and issue of Inspection Release Notes
  • Report any inspection deficiencies and Supplier queries to project Quality team
  • Maintain quarantine areas within warehouse for goods inwards receipt inspection
  • Assist in auditing of materials vendors, fabricators, NDT providers, and valve manufacturers
  • Complete inspection visit reports and issue to project Quality team

 

Skills / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Welding Inspector certification (equivalent to PCN/CSWIP level 2)
  • Inspector Certification in relevant Discipline (e.g. Welding/electrical/ mechanical) from Recognised Industry/national body
  • Radiographic Interpretation PCN Level 2 (for piping inspection only)
  • Quality Auditor qualification by recognised industry body
  • Knowledge of ATEX, PED

 

Minimum Experience:

  • Extensive experience, preferably in the Oil / Gas / Petrochemical industry

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
  • Attention to Detail
