Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE Company is currently hiring for Materials Manager based in Houston, TX.

In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. You will report directly into the Rankin Plant Manager in Wireline.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Plans, directs, controls, coordinates and evaluates all or most inventory planning and control activities (i.e. stocking, inventory planning/turnover, materials handling, and forecasting).
  • Manages inventory replenishment based on production schedules, current inventory, customer orders and forecasts.
  • Ensures accurate and current inventory records.
  • Own site inventory: develop and implement inventory stocking strategies and processes that assure service levels are appropriate for customer fulfillment while improving inventory turns
  • Consults with division financial, purchasing, engineering and operations personnel regarding business level forecasts, inventory reserves, and other factors which may affect inventory.
  • Handles special projects, as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 8+ years of experience in materials or inventory coordination.
  • Experience with SAP or Oracle site implementations
  • Strong analytical skills. Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Broad knowledge of division product lines and processes.
