Position Summary

Provides the company with reasonable assurance that all personnel have the proficiency to perform their assigned responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities


  • In cooperation with Business Unit Training Managers, determines the competency needs of the company.
  • Manages and administers all competency activities.
  • Ensures competency records are created and maintained in LMS system.
  • Maintains and develops competency programs.
  • Monitors, records, and analyzes the effectiveness of competency training programs.
  • Carries out all duties in accordance with quality assurance procedures/departmental works instructions.
  • Participates in training as required.
  • Presents regular updates to management on the accomplishments of the competency programs.
  • Carries out all duties safely and in accordance with the Health & Safety policy, employee handbook, procedures, training and instruction.




  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in competency development.


  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience supporting global training programs in a technical environment.



  • Knowledge of appropriate steps to analytical problem solving.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals.
  • Treats others fairly and with respect.
  • Knowledge of department's policies, rules, regulations, business goals, vision, organizational structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles and values, etc.
  • Ability to establish and maintain project priorities.
  • Seeks out new learning experiences.
