JOB DESCRIPTION

Performs assignments with general supervision related to the procurement of materials, supplies and services within established limits and quality, quantity and price guidelines are broad in nature with some latitude for action to be reviewed.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Purchase quality products with timely deliveries at the best price.

Expedite current purchase orders for delivery.

Process and communicate reports with suppliers.

Negotiate contracts for services with supervision.

Assist suppliers with questions or problems concerning the purchasing process to ensure effective communication with the plant and timely delivery.

Maintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchase, costs, delivery, product quality or performance and inventories.

Perform clerical requires as needed with reference to specific responsibilities.

Develop reliable sources of supply and sound supplier relationships.

Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and other to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

Maintain ethical conduct with all supplier relations.

Maintain open communication lines with other departments.

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

Understand and comply with all safety and environmental requirements and company policies of Weatherford.

Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and company with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Good verbal communication skills.

Familiarization with manufacturing and service environment.

General computer knowledge.

Must have reading, writing and math skills.

Minimum 1 year previous buying experience, preferably in manufacturing environment.

Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Ability to work and interact with all levels of personnel.

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.

Preferred:

Knowledge of JDE Operating systems.

Valid driver's license.
