Role Summary:

Provide technical leadership in supporting significant enterprise platforms that are owned by the Enterprise Platforms and Monitoring team. Specifically, support of the ITSM platforms including ServiceNow, CA Service Desk, CA Service Catalog, and CA ITAM are in scope for this role. Technical support leadership for these platforms includes integration with other platforms, data management, and support of reporting from these platforms. This role can be expected to perform consolidation and migration activities as well, as the strategy to consolidate to a single ITSM platform is executed. Additionally, support of ITIL processes is a key activity for this role.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role Sr. Application Operations Engineer, you will:
  • Be responsible for providing technical leadership in support of application platforms in a fast paced environment
  • Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging platform features
  • Support process improvements, sustaining & support activities
  • Work cross functionally with other business departments to align activities and deliverables
  • Communicate effectively both within immediate team and the organization
  • Understand performance parameters and assess application performance
  • Understand core data structures of the supported platforms and provide integration support with other systems as needed
  • Proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Information Technology field

Desired Characteristics:
  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum 3 years of experience in the Information Technology field

Technical Expertise:
  • Experience with Windows and Unix / Linux based systems
  • Experience working on IT Service Management systems supporting ITIL processes

Business Acumen:
  • Takes initiative to explore alternate technologies and approaches to solving problems
  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
  • Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices

Leadership:
  • Ability to takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members
  • Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale for solutions. Recognizes mutual needs of all stakeholders and win-win solutions.
  • Identifies misalignments with goals, objectives, and work direction that doesn't follow organizational strategy and offers solutions to address issues
  • Continuously measures deliverables against scheduled commitments. Effectively balances competing objectives
