A great opportunity has arisen for a Drilling Manager to join a mid-cap oil and gas operating company based in Adelaide.

The purpose of the role is to provide leadership to support the offshore well project team to ensure that well designs and operational plans are in place to deliver cost effective life of field solutions which meet project objectives whilst ensuring technical integrity standards, business requirements and HSE performance targets are met.

You will be responsible for the ongoing planning, design, costing and programming of the offshore well projects which will also include logistics management to ensure equipment, personnel and services are always available. This is an exciting time to jump on-board with a company experiencing growth.

Your project management and people leadership skills will be fully utilised along with your extensive experience in offshore well engineering, project and operational management. This will include your thorough understanding of subsea exploration and development projects including extended reach drilling and complex completions.

Essential Education and Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor of Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years' experience, including prior experience of working for an operator
  • Thorough knowledge of well engineering principles and standards
  • Possess a thorough understanding onshore and offshore drilling rigs and oilfield operations
  • IWCF (subsea) Level 4 Well Control Certification
  • Experience in directional, horizontal drilling and extended reach drilling.
  • Experience ensuring that well budgets and AFEs accurately reflect intended project scopes to enable the accurate forecast of expenditure during planning and operations
  • Previous experience mentoring and leading well engineers and operational teams.
