The Learning Advisor Wells (WE) is responsible for capability building that enables top-quartile business results in the Wells portfolio. Ownership of various Wells (WE) courses and programmes delivery and management. Drives delivery of the programmes through personal facilitation, internal SME's and external vendors. Introducing a continual improvement cycle by designing, developing and reviewing programmes to enhance learning to meet the business needs. The Learning Advisor may be involved in any or all of the existing Wells learning programmes as business needs/preference dictates. The immediate focus will be on delivering Process Safety related training such as PDO Enhanced Well Control trainining primarily inhouse to PDO. IWCF Training in Levels 2, 3 , 4 & 5 as per the IWCF syllabi. This training will be cascaded to other Operators and Contractors within Oman with an aim to becoming a Wells Learning Hub for the Middle East. Also being offered to the industry is the Shell Round 1 training programme as part of the scope of this role which involves coaching External candidates through the distance learning package and delivery of the Shell W100 training courses. Additional trainings such as Wells for non Wells Technicals and Stuck Pipe Prevention is also delivered and any additional future courses as bussines dictates. Full use of the simulators is a focused area to build PDO specific scenarios for Practical Simulator Assessments, Emergency response exercises, root cause analysis and rig/field team requirements. The position also will deliver educational lectures and tours for Educational Institutions and supporting other inhouse training programmes. The position has been benchmarked with Shell Global practices.
Other Job Details
BSc in Enginering. A minimum of 8 years experience with a minimum of 5 years in the field. Skill/Mastery in his/her field (Subject Matter Expert, SME): Well Engineering. Sound understanding of competence management principles. A strong desire to teach and coach others. IWCF qualification.
