General Position Definition

The role of the Unconventionals Asset Learning Advisor, within Upstream Learning & OD organisation, ensures a competent Operations workforce through providing support to the Asset for the Production training and competency process. This includes delivering on the competence management strategy as set by Learning and Asset Leadership. The role is site based and supports Production as the key stakeholder.

The Asset Learning Advisor works with the Asset Leadership Team and with the other Asset Learning Advisors to define and deliver an effective and cost-efficient training plan which drives competence assurance and competence development for each Asset. As part of the Learning team, the Asset Learning Advisor drives a joined-up agenda which drives standardized and sustainable Learning solutions across all Unconventionals Assets. The Asset Learning Advisor will be an advocate and single point of contact for Learning for the Asset and will be knowledgeable on Learning priorities and ongoing work to provide high quality support to the Asset.

Job Purpose:
  • Primary responsibility is to provide support to asset for the Production training and competency process, including delivering on the competence management strategy as set by Learning and Asset Leadership.
  • Drives execution of the training process through facilitation, collaborating with subject matter experts, and external vendors/stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with Asset Leadership to identify Assessors and Trainers (SMEs). Develops, coaches, and mentors Assessors and Trainers.
  • Ensures alignment with the broader UPU competency and learning strategy, tools and systems to develop and ensure competent Frontline personnel.
  • Provides general awareness of Learning agenda and priorities
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of accurate job competency profiles and the commensurate training development and execution.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining accurate training related documentation including training materials, training completions and job role qualifications.
  • Act as field connection to the broader HR community, Argentina HR and Unconventionals HR.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Assures accurate Job Competence Profiles are maintained for multiple stakeholders across UPU.
  • Works with Asset Leaders to align and update Learning strategy and delivery plans.
  • Provide regular feedback/metrics on status and Learning needs.
  • Ensures effective, efficient, and sustainable delivery of learning solutions using relevant learning methodology including management of vendors as necessary.
  • Conducts effective stakeholder engagements to ensure alignment on competence and compliance development priorities with Asset Leadership and Health, Safety, Security & Environment focal points.
  • Manages on-boarding of new Asset employees at site.
  • Supports competence development and assurance of all Frontline personnel.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining accurate training related documentation including training materials, training completions and job role qualifications.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining accurate job competency profiles, and the development and delivery of the commensurate training.
  • Evaluates and supports existing Operations Learning practices, procedures and assessments for effectiveness, and identifies improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitates regular training and competence development alignment sessions with Asset Leadership team and identified assessors, to ensure alignment on priorities, secure needed resources, and identify and address competence related issues and/or gaps early on.
  • Develops, coaches, and mentors Assessors and Trainers.
  • Conduct skill assessments as required and per qualifications.




Requirements

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Background in and understanding of Operations, credible with Operations staff.
  • Ability to coach, engage stakeholders and influence without authority.
  • Proven history of delivery against challenging goals and ability to prioritize.
  • Excellent organizational and communication/presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to facilitate Learning material and use multiple learning methods
  • Ability to drive change management initiatives.
  • Ability to apply Learning principles, competence frameworks, and management systems to achieve Learning plans.
  • Ability to develop and deliver against project plans.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in virtual teams and with diverse cultures.
