Role Summary/Purpose

Manage technical requests for TM2500 Turbine packages fleet on mechanical engineering side. Provide technical support to site team during Installation and Commissioning phases as well as during plant outages and plant operations. Investigate technical issues and define the recovery strategy and perform troubleshooting on site, when necessary. Coordinate multifunctional teams to deliver root cause analyses (RCA), as well as discuss the outcome f the analysis with customers and internal stakeholders. Provide technical feedback to Product Engineering based on site experience and follow up with implementation.

Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Commissioning and Product Service Mechanical Engineer, you will:
  • Lead troubleshooting and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business
  • Investigates technical issues and define the recovery strategy
  • Coordinates multifunctional teams to deliver root cause failure analyses (RCA), in strong cooperation with the M&D team
  • Discuss the outcome of the analyses with the customers and internal stakeholders; follows up with implementation
  • Provides technical support to site team during plant installation, commissioning and outages
  • Defines the strategy and manages complex issues within functional areas of expertise, mainly related to TM2500 packages, shaft line and balance of plant/auxiliaries
  • Ability to document, plan and execute programs
  • Remains current in the state of the art within own technical specialty for new products introduction acitivity, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions
  • Supports other BHGE businesses, supplier, and internal / external customers
  • Provides engineering support, within the defined specialty, to teams working on performance, cost reduction and quality initiatives
  • Leverages expertise to resolve problems in the field
  • Makes recommendations after analysis of the data using quality tools
  • Protects the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
  • Adhere and act accordingly to quality, HSE, and compliance values
  • Provides technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in TM2500 product lines

Desired Characteristics
  • Green Belt certified
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Energy and Turbine packaging
  • Good knowledge of Turbine Packages from design, commissioning, maintenance, and service perspective
  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • Deep knowledge of Installation and Commissioning procedures
