Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for efficient maintenance of shop equipment within drill bits
  • Conduct initial inspections of drill bits equipment's that come into the shop
  • Inspection of incoming and outgoing drill bit product to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Perform brazing to repair drill bits
  • Regular use of flame spray as per standard operating procedures
  • Perform OD grinding of PDC bits and ID/OD Grinding of core bits using Lathe
  • Operate over-head cranes and occasional fork lift
  • Perform final clean up and paint drill bits before they are sent back to the field for service
  • Job safety meetings on location
  • This position requires constant use of PPE like such as coveralls, hard-hat, gloves (job dependent), safety shoes and shields
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • This position is a Mon-Fri role on a shift basis; must be open to work on either first or second shifts as required. Weekend work will be required as well.

Essential Qualifications/Requirements
  • Must have a years' experience in brazing and flame spraying of steel body and matrix bits
  • Must have high regards to safety and quality
  • Must be compliant to all Baker Hughes policies and procedures
  • Conduct all business activities in accordance to Baker Hughes HSE policies

Preferred Qualifications/Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Direct shop experience within the drill bits
  • Previous experience working with torch and or welding background is desirable
  • Knowledge of operating and troubleshooting field equipment's
  • Fork lift training certificate and materials movement certification is an asset
  • First Aid training is an added plus
  • Class 5 driver's license
