Our Client is a petroleum and natural gas exploration and production company they are currently looking for a Financial Analyst. This will be a 12-month contract assignment with potential to be extended.
Location: Kermit, TX
Years of Experience: Minimum 1-year experience in finance and/ or accounting, 3 years preferred
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred (we are really looking for at least a Bachelor's degree or if not a lot of accounting experience)
Qualifications Needed to Perform Job:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following minimum qualifications
Minimum 1-year experience in finance and/ or accounting, 3 years preferred
Strong analytical, computer (MS Office suite), and communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build working relationships
Displays professional and mature business intelligence and the ability to lead by example
Ability to perform in both an office or field environment
Experience with SAP and the Oil & Gas industry preferred
Excellent written and communication skills
Ability to handle confidential and proprietary company data and information
Responsibilities of Person Performing Job:
Identify, set-up and maintain accurate cost and allocations
Maintain an accurate system for tracking water costs from production through disposal or recycle
Participate in well reviews and provide P&L analytical support at the well, pumper, foreman and field levels
Analyze facility capital costs and allocate to wells
Analyze LOE well cost, identify miscoded expenses, and reclassify as needed.
Review coding and train team on coding improvements
Identify and help coordinate various accounting efforts impacting local field operations
Perform financial analysis, research, and reporting
Respond to partner and audit inquiries
Review and Audit vendor records for discrepancies in billing
Understands fundamentals and principles of own discipline function.
Performs assignments with occasional guidance from more experienced staff.
Completes assignments set by management within business unit.
Understands and applies all company environmental, health and safety policies and principles.
Implements value and quality in work assignments.
Provide financial support through accurate data entries using SAP financial software and general account structure
Follow all company procedures and established guidelines
Maintain compliance with proper regulatory and guidelines SOX, COPAS etc.
Develops working knowledge of organization functions, roles and responsibilities.
Analyzes business drivers, performance measures, and financial indicators
Actively seeks guidance, as necessary, from more experienced staff.
