Role Summary:

The Senior Proposals Manager will develop winning strategies to close profitable orders for the Unconventional Market in North America. In this role, you will engage multifunctional teams to implement the commercial strategy for new equipment orders.

Essential Responsibilities:

As a critical member of the Inquiry to Order (ITO) team the Senior Proposals Manager will help deliver the best technical and commercial solution for our customers, including winning proposals that achieves appropriate risk and reward for BHGE. In addition, the Senior Manager will manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning and contribute to the overall business strategy.

In this role Senior Proposals Manager, you will:
  • Provide technical, profitability, and commercial inputs to support Risk Management processes
  • Partner with the sales team to increase orders volume, attend weekly sales meeting and report proposal status
  • Manage Terms & Conditions assessment and drive resolution to closure, from the bid negotiation
  • phase until contract award, interfacing with customers, legal and other functions in commercial phase
  • Ensure all deviations from standard Terms & Conditions are properly evaluated, mitigated and approved by the responsible functions
  • Take the lead for the bid preparation, bid submission, and contract negotiation, and complete project handover to Project Management Teams
  • Manage deal strategies in synergy
  • with pricing and cost teams
  • Coordinate with HQ, channel management, and services teams to implement new packager agreements
  • Develop and maintain customer and sales relationships
  • Visit customers in support of sales and to generate orders
  • Manage opportunities in Deal Machine and process orders for recognition
  • Continuously review deal dispositions and lead lessons-learned, implementing continuous improvement projects to improve competitiveness, hit-rate and market share
  • Take overall responsibility for Order Booking from initial award to OTR handoff
  • Manage booking and order reporting in designated business tools

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business, Finance from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial, contracts, or application engineering experience with Oil and Gas or Power Generation Products and Services

Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience on bid preparation and contract negotiation for Oil and Gas products
  • Proficient skill set in dealing with Contract Terms and Conditions
  • Work experience with rotating equipment such as Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines and Compressors
    High motivation level, ability to work without supervision, or external motivation
  • Knowledge of legal aspects and implications of contracts, terms and conditions, negotiation, etc. to allow constructing contracts while minimizing risk
    Self-starter with strong leadership and negotiation skills
    Demonstrated evidence of successful commercial performance in a team type environment
  • Experience in contract negotiations, risk management and project management
  • Demonstrated credibility to be effective in facilitating cross-business / cross-functional teams and work in a global matrix organization
  • Proven ability to interact and work well with customers
    Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese or Italian a plus
    Experience in field services, repairs, or parts
    Good communication skill with multifunctional team
    Ability to perform effectively in a non-hierarchical, team type environment
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills
    Proficient in the Microsoft Office platform
