Role Summary:

This role is for the Commercial Finance Analyst for the Digital Solutions (DS) business within Baker Hughes. DS is a business with $2.8B of sales with headquarters in Billerica, Massachusetts. DS provides a portfolio of products and services encompassing condition monitoring, sensing, inspection, and measurement & distribution infrastructure solutions. Comprised of multiple acquisitions, DS plays in the power generation and oil& gas industries, in addition to many other more diverse spaces. The business is particularly global in nature, with locations in 60 countries. The Commercial Finance Analyst is expected to lead the reporting and pacing of key commercial metrics (orders, sales, backlog) for the business, working closely with leaders in both Region and PC teams to drive the right level of visibility and accountability. This person will also partner with the DS CFO and DS FP&A leader to lead all commercial planning and strategy sessions.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Commercial Finance Analyst, you will:
  • Support the FP&A leader in coordinating commercial inputs for all FP&A planning cycles (e.g. analysis to set targets, provide guidance to DS team for system loads, coordinate with BHGE HQ, pitch deck preparation, etc.)
  • Support the FP&A leader with mid-quarter pacing mechanisms (e.g. produce weekly Commercial Tracker and perform ad hoc analyses)
  • Provide thought leadership to FP&A in forecasting/modeling commercial performance and determining proper KPIs to track
  • Own all commercial reporting requirements both internally and externally during quarter close
  • Partner with HQ Commercial Excellence team & DS Senior Commercial Leader to support the variable compensation plan & payout processes
  • Own pacing and reporting of commercial metrics (orders, convertible orders, backlog, sales)
  • Key point of contact between HQ and region / PC teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency in commercial pacing and reporting activities across the business
  • Work closely with BI team to improve accuracy and availability of commercial data
  • Develop familiarity with the Salesforce.com / Deal Machine platform and use it to support HQ Commercial Excellence team efforts in driving visibility and analysis around the selling cycle and DS go-to-market strategy (e.g. key customers, verticals)

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge/experience
  • Considerable years of corporate finance experience with progressively increasing responsibility

  • Highly analytical & curious with previous experience in FP&A
  • Ability to challenge status quo and influence cross-functional and global counterparts
  • Ability to execute across multiple priorities independently & decisively
  • Effectively communicates across all levels of management & staff (written, oral and powerpoint)
  • Experience with BI, SAP, HFM and Salesforce
