We are seeking a Geo Modeler to join Emerging Unconventional Assets Department of Saudi Aramco
The Emerging Unconventional Assets Dept is responsible directing and coordinating all exploration and appraisal activities in all unconventional assets areas across the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the department is also responsible for portfolio & play evaluation and de-risking, through various subsurface projects and analyses to guide drilling campaigns, and support field development decisions.
Your primary role is to provide quality assurance of data integrity and building robust 3D geological models that will be utilized for the development of the relevant fields for reservoir characterization and reserve estimation as well as for drilling, completion, hydraulic stimulation and production optimization.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a Bachelor's degree in in geology or geophysics from a recognized and approved program and an advanced degree is preferred.
You will have 12+ years' experience in Geoscience including at least 5-10 years in 3D geological modelling and an active interest in future developments of automated machine intelligence applications.
You must be proficient in petrel modelling software and able to create complete project workflows that integrate a myriad of relevant data and external interpretations provided by other teams.
You will be responsible for Integrating all relevant data and other technical interpretations including sedimentological and seismic studies.
You will provide quality assurance of data integrity and building robust 3D geological models that will be utilized for the development of the relevant fields.
You will have strong all round geoscientific and 3D modelling experience in unconventional reservoirs including tight sands and Shales:
Understanding of numerical methods in reservoir modeling.
Geostatistics and other methods for modeling geological facies at reservoir scale.
Representation of complex structures in reservoir grids
Development of new uncertainty workflows
Sector modelling and basics of reservoir engineering and reservoir development
Strong geophysical and petrophysical reservoir characterization skills.
Petrophysical knowledge of rock typing methods.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Design best practice workflows that are tailored for our specific reservoirs
Plan, frame, carry out and review integrated reservoir modeling projects
Apply advanced methods of geological modeling.
Participate in improving and/or initiating corporate best practice approaches in geological modeling and reservoir characterization.
Support and initiate collaboration with partners to develop and apply new technologies
Able to effectively lead a smaller workgroup of professionals across disciplinary boundaries in reservoir modeling projects.
Able to effectively work in multi-disciplinary teams as a key contributor
Seek (innovation) new technologies for integrated reservoir modelling.
