Role Summary:

The Systems Engineer - Digital Operations - Data Storage is responsible for support and maintenance of our global storage environment. The role will be involved in aspects of storage infrastructure availability (lifecycle and uptime), storage management (backup, archiving, and compliance) and data durability (long term storage solutions, disaster recovery, and business continuity).

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Systems Engineer - Digital Operations, you will:
  • Configuration, allocation, and management of centralized storage systems and other deployed storage solutions
  • Help develop or engineer new solutions related to data storage and access
  • Recommend what type of storage solution to deploy
  • Implementation of new storage technologies - tapeless, cloud storage etc.
  • Automating processes and overall selection of data protection methodologies
  • Updating any obsolete sections of the data storage, management and access network
  • Keeping records of upgrades and proposed system upgrades that will streamline data handling
  • Partnering with the Cyber Security Risk and Compliance organization to ensure appropriate handling of data storage and resolution of audit findings

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a "STEM" Major (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 4 years of experience along with established leadership across the discipline and function

Desired Characteristics:
  • Aptitude, experience and/or passion for the creation and execution of an enterprise grade storage team & environment

Technical Requirements
  • Extensive experience in storage Operations management, backup systems, SAN, NAS, DR
  • Working knowledge of systems from major data storage vendors and cloud services
  • Working knowledge of technical aspects of storage systems - including but not limited to DAS, NAS, Fiber Channel, RAID config, LUN Masking
  • Process improvement and storage provisioning automation
  • Experience with security and compliance requirements of running an enterprise storage environment
  • Troubleshooting experience and ability to fulfill L3+ support
