As part of Gulf Drilling International (GDI) continued growth we arec urrently recruiting for an experienced OIM / Rig Superintendent for our Offshore fleet
As a GDI Rig Superintendent you will typically be the most senior person on-board and will be accountable for all operations on your assigned rig.
You will ensure contractual obligations are satisfied as the GDI representative and ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, guidelines, company policies and procedures. Ensuring implementation of the Company Safety Management System and monitoring compliance by all other personnel.
GDI is commited to the safety of our workforce and would expect our Rig Superintendent to be equally safety conciouss. Each Rig Superintendent has the following individual responsibility in respect of the company's integrated HSE policy.
a) Establishing HSE target objectives for his supervisory staff.
b) Implementation and follow up of rig site HSE plan.
c) Attending rig safety meetings.
d) Implement HSE elated recommendations from various sources.
e) Implementation of MODU code upgrading work.
f) Undertaking periodic testing, inspection & certification of safety equipment.
g) Review, action & encourage the use of hazard reporting.
h) Monitor rig site modifications and implementation of PMS programme.
i) Promoting safety awareness within their sphere of responsibility.
j) The safety performance of subordinate staff (including contract staff).
k) Taking all measures necessary, including disciplinary, where non compliance with the HSE manual and its' associate directives and/or legislation is observed.
You will be an efective communicator with an excellent command of the English language both verbally and written. You have a minimum of 10 years' offshore experience, including at least 5 years' in a supervisory / management position. You will have previous experience as a Rig Superintendent preferrably having worked your way up through the ranks.
You must hold a valid IWCF and OIM licecnce to be considered for this role.
