Targa is currently seeking a Business Analyst for their office located in Houston, TX.

The Business Analyst - Commercial NGL and Transportation Systems ("Analyst") is skilled in support of several commercial systems and integrating those systems to deliver maximum efficiency and business value. The primary focus for the Analyst is to be involved in the day-to-day application support and troubleshooting, including responding to end-user questions and trouble tickets for Right Angle and related applications. Investigates operational requirements, problems, and opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes. Assists in the analysis of stakeholder objectives, and the underlying issues arising from investigations into business requirements and problems, and identifies options for consideration. The Analyst will also collaborate with the information technology department and participate in the process of planning for, implementing, and supporting commercial systems. Although the Analyst position is not a technical role it will require the knowledge and use of some technology competencies to complete work efforts.

Job Responsibilities

· Monitor incoming service requests and incidents and keep open items updated with current efforts

· Create, analyze, and validate detailed functional specifications

· Update and maintain design books, test scripts, work instructions and other team documents with new functionality or process improvements

· Identify and communicate improvement opportunities with emphasis on continuous service improvement

· Prevent the replication of problems across multiple systems by sharing lessons learned and best practices with other team members and management

· Develops customer relationships by making efforts to listen and understand the customer; anticipating and providing solutions to customer needs; giving high priority to customer satisfaction

Minimum Essential Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Business Administration and/or equivalent work experience in a related field

· 2-5 plus years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in defining solutions to solve complex, multidisciplinary business problems with long-term implications

· Specific focus on building, delivering, and maintaining mission critical, 24x7 production systems

· 1-3 plus years of experience managing vendors, vendor managed software applications, and system administrators of the applications

· Knowledge or experience with several of the following applications or business areas: Energy Trading and Risk Management, Right Angle, NG Marketing, NGL Marketing, Petroleum Logistics, Credit, Treasury, Contracts, Plant Accounting, Truck Dispatch, Tax, Pricing, Data Feeds

· Facilitated group meetings such as workshops, project planning, or training sessions

· Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile development methodologies

· Strong written and verbal communication skills with an aptitude for problem solving

· Strong reading and listening comprehension skills

· Convey opinions persuasively

· Able to find the "story" buried in processes and communicate it to a wider audience effectively

· Must be able to independently resolve issues and efficiently self-direct work activities based on the ability to capture, organize, and analyze information

· Create and visualize process and organizational models

· Experience delivering solutions that align with business strategies

· Experience troubleshooting complicated issues across multiple systems or processes and driving to solutions

· Experience supporting resources performing user acceptance, regression and other required system tests, ensuring that system and/or related integration issues that arise are identified, researched and closed in a timely manner

· Experience providing technical solutions to non-technical individuals

· Demonstrated team building skills

· Ability to deal with internal employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude

· Customer service experience

· Regular and reliable attendance

Preferred Qualifications

· Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA)

· Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)

· Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile development methodologies

· Working knowledge and experience in Microsoft Technologies
