Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company, has an opening for a Field Supervisor to join the International Rotator team. The SWOT (Strategic Well Operations Technology) team is based and managed from Houston, TX. However, this is a global role involving all international locations with oilfield operations. The SWOT consists of a pool of talented and experienced personnel available for deployment globally to assist with advancement of the Intervention Product Line Strategy and Operational goals. The services provided by the SWOT Field Specialist are outlined below:

  • Execution of Fishing, Whipstock, Wellbore Clean out, and General Intervention jobs at the Wellsite.
  • Training and Assessment of personnel in areas of AMO and Rig Site Execution
  • Fill gaps in Personnel Shortages for Strategic Opportunities
  • New Product Introductions and Training Sessions
  • Customer Interactions / Planning for new contracts
  • Problem Job Resolutions and RCA Investigations
  • Execution of Intervention Product Line Strategy Objectives

This position involves international travel and is a dynamic schedule. Days away vary, and are irregular, according to customer and rig requirements, but general period of deployment is approximately 28 days per hitch dependent on projects. Assignment length and frequency will vary based on each specific job and customer requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility for Fishing and Intervention job execution at the wellsite
  • Responsible for field operations involving Drilling and Workover Rigs. Some jobs may extend into use of E-Line, CT, Snubbing units (HWO), and Slick Line.
  • Redress and operation of downhole tools
  • Work under broad direction and is proficient in Well Intervention applications
  • Advise and troubleshoot complex critical issues in Well Intervention
  • Constantly expand application knowledge and expertise to include new applications of increasing complexity and risk
  • Ensure BHGE equipment is compatible with all other equipment used for job
  • Provide front line support to customer during operations
  • Document operations accurately as required for completion of BHGE paperwork
  • Conduct training and assessment of new personnel as required
  • Conduct business with professionalism and in line with BHGE Core Values
  • Work in accordance with BHGE HSE policies, and maintain Legal Compliance
  • Handles special projects as assigned


  • Technical or Engineering degree OR can be offset with field experience
  • Competent in oilfield operations
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Fishing and General Interventions
  • Knowledge of field operations involving Drilling and Workover rigs, and Snubbing Units
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills for databases and reports
  • Microsoft Office Suite - especially with Excel
  • Excellent analytical skills - Root Cause Analysis / Providing Solutions
  • Work well in a team environment, with excellent communication skills in English
  • Must be willing to travel 100% of the time both Domestic and International and work flexible schedule as project requires
  • Must be a self-sufficient and culturally aware due to the nature of a global role

Desired Characteristics:

  • Previous experience with rig operations and interventions
  • Good communication skills with customer and internal to BHGE
  • International experience is a plus
  • Experienced with specialized cutting and milling techniques
  • Bi-Lingual - Spanish, Arabic, or Russian - capability is a plus
  • Ability to work Independently in remote locations.
