Role Summary:

The Staff Technical Project Manager, on the Digital Technologies Human Resources (HR) Applications Team, is responsible for the planning, operational management and day-to-day execution of key projects for the BHGE HR organization. This individual will partner closely with the HR leadership team, HR business partners and other key stakeholders to drive the delivery of a wide variety of projects.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Staff Technical Project Manager, you will:
  • Work with technical teams to deliver features and significant products that meet the HR function's needs
  • Demonstrate expert level skill in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity
  • Engage frequently with the HR team and software delivery resources; facilitate discussions, provide clarification, story acceptance and refinement, testing and validation; contributes to design activities and decisions
  • Own and manage the backlog; continuously order and prioritize to ensure that 1-2 sprints / iterations of backlog are always ready
  • Conduct customer and stakeholder interviews and elaborate on HR requirements
  • Demonstrate superior persuasion and influencing skills that ensure alignment between HR, domain leaders and development teams
  • Demonstrates excellent business & HR domain acumen.
  • Organize project teams comprising from internal and external technical and functional experts based on budget, scope and timeline
  • Manage day-to-day execution of multiple interdependent projects by working directly with global technical teams
  • Manage procurement and onboarding process
  • Manage project plan, risks/issues, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project
  • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting at various levels of the organization including leadership and executives
  • Ensure quality of deliverables is verified and matching stakeholder expectations
  • Ensure lessons learned are collected
  • Perform initial and final financial reviews, and ensure ongoing budget tracking


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or Engineering or 4 years of IT technical experience
  • Minimum 5 years of IT professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Software Development Project Management including project and financial management leading cross-functional initiatives and/or large global projects


Desired Characteristics:

  • The successful candidate will have significant functional knowledge of HR as well as significant technical knowledge of a core set of Digital Technologies used by HR (examples include Workday, SAP, Kronos, etc.) Experience is not required in all areas listed, but candidate mush show depth in a core set of technologies & have demonstrated HR domain expertise
  • Both types of candidates will be considered: HR experts with significant Digital Technology exposure or DT experts with significant HR domain expertise
  • Proven experience using project management methodologies to deliver business value and drive significant change across an organization
  • Experience managing budgets including budget, spend, and liquidations.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of various project and portfolio management methodologies with track record of implementing shared standards for large organizations
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to influence outcomes and organize teams to attain shared goals
  • Excellent influencing, interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal) with all levels of an organization
  • Self-starter - requires minimal direction to accomplish goals. Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and / or industry activities
