Automation Engineer - Heerenveen, Netherlands

Leap29 are working with an international food processing and packaging business, our client has an opportunity for an Automation Engineer to join them in Heerenveen, Netherlands. This is an exciting opportunity to join an international business in the development, engineering and commissioning of dairy production equipment in the food industry.

•Develop, manage and own automation platform and interface specifications
•Define and manage automation platform architecture & manage technical trade-offs studies in automation control area
•Execution at Factories and Sites with strong stakeholder engagement
•Manage life cycle activities and provide operational support to roll-out organisations and market companies for deployed automation platforms
•Provide automation support to the entire facility in the areas of electrical and instrumentation controls
•Be an active member of automation projects from order to customer take over, contributing by doing hands on work - software coding, PLC programming, HW design, FAT testing - during the project where it is required

·Degree in automation/electrical/mechatronics engineering or equivalent
·3-5 years of relevant work experience
·Several years of experience with PLCs (Siemens TIA Portal/S7, Allan Bradley contrologix) and user interface (UI/HMI) technologies
·Fluency in English language and fluency in Dutch is an advantage
·Willingness to travel up to 50%
