Role: Principal Asbestos Consultant/ Technical Lead

Location: Home based (North) with travel to client's sites

This is a vital role, acting as the technical authority in Asbestos for Bureau Veritas and our existing and potential clients. You will manage existing authorisations, approvals and notifications and apply the relevant regulations, standards and best-practice to ensure the competency of the asbestos team is maintained.

DELIVER SERVICE EXCELLEN CE

We're looking for someone that can act as a trusted consultant to our clients, bringing industry insight and regulatory knowledge together with a commitment to deliver service excellence as part of a true partnership approach.

Responsibilities include:

  • To plan and undertake asbestos activities as appropriate, including asbestos surveys, annual re-inspections, project management of asbestos remediation, site risk assessments, air monitoring, asbestos management plans and training
  • To offer independent and impartial advice to clients on all aspects of asbestos management and compliance, in line with latest regulations
  • To build strong relationships with key individuals at all levels within the client organisation, delivering service excellence in line with Bureau Veritas' values
  • To work alongside Bureau Veritas colleagues, identifying opportunities for commercial growth through complementary services
  • Promote Health and Safety Culture within the Asbestos discipline
  • Support external accreditation assessments
  • Act as Technical Focal Point for personnel and manage and monitor the competence of personnel
  • Review inspection reports prepared by team members and prepare / issue certificates or reports to confirm compliance to the relevant regulations
  • Analysis of results, QC and QA schemes, verification, validation & development of methods where appropriate
  • Support external accreditation assessments
  • Coach and mentor personnel as required

  • P402, P403 and P404 qualified
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, best-practice and standards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
