POSITION SUMMARY:

The Area Manager is responsible for the oversight of an Asset Area by leading self-managed teams, assisting in evaluating expenses, revenue, gas balances and asset utilization in addition to developing a business plan for the Area.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the operation and maintenance of regional gas and crude oil facilities to ensure their safe, reliable, and efficient operation, including the leadership of self-managed teams in the areas of Plant & Terminal Operations, Field Operations and Maintenance
  • Ensures the implementation and enforcement of all company guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Implement work practices and procedures consistent with Targa’s ES&H policies and continuously promoting and establishing a safe work environment for all employees
  • Set the objectives for the preparation of the operating and capital budgets for area of responsibility and reviews the status of the monthly forecasting during the fiscal year
  • Reviews progress and directs changes in priorities and schedules as needed to ensure work is completed in an efficient and timely manner meeting the needs of the business and customers
  • Oversees, and participates when needed, in the selection and or promotion of staff, salary change considerations, disciplinary matters, conducts performance evaluations and effectively provides developmental opportunities for staff
  • Directs and assists supervisory team in developing and achieving goals for OPEX and product balances
  • Assists in the development of new business deals and reviews proposed contracts in collaboration with the Commercial representative
  • Develops and maintains relationships with customers
  • Ensures current security measures protect company assets while preserving the safety of the general public, customers, and employees
  • Oversees the coordination with Marketing on produce movements and manages associated inventories
  • Participates and engages in local business and community organizations and events
  • Performs other duties as assigned





MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must posses and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • 10+ years’ experience in a management/ leadership position
  • 15+ years’ experience in the Midstream industry
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to interface with employees, customers, vendors etc.
  • An organized and detail-oriented self-starter with a strong work ethic that can work self-sufficiently
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems independently and exercise excellent judgement both technically and managerially





PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (strongly preferred)


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull 75 pounds
  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions and a plant environment
  • Ability to work in close quarters: i.e. work while kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing
  • Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines
