Software Engineer on a team responsible for the development of software on new and legacy device platforms for Weatherford's Production Software business unit. Responsibilities include designing and implementing software components as a developer, working with documentation and QA team members, formulating software requirements with product owners and interacting with support staff to resolve customer issues.

Participate as a technical expert to apply a broad understanding of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to create software solutions

Assist team as we migrate existing device platform to Linux

Analyze firmware performance and conformance to design specifications and adjust the design or software/firmware as required

Cooperate with hardware design personnel in new product development

Work with a distributed team with developers based in Texas

Work closely with QA personnel on test automation and test design

Work closely with the Product Managers to understand customer requirements

Work with Support and QA to ensure high priority issues are diagnosed and resolved quickly

Participate in the development of software user manuals. Document software designs

May assist in the planning and coordination of projects



Minimum Qualifications:

Strong C/C++ experience and knowledge (5+ years)

Experience developing embedded software applications

Experience with device driver development

Experience interfacing with hardware

Strong object-oriented software development expertise

B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent discipline, or equivalent experience


7 + year(s) experience in the above-mentioned development practices.

7 + year(s) C++ development experience 

RTOS development knowledge

Agile Scrum software development experience

Experience with Mentor Graphics Nucleus RTOS, Green Hills Integrity RTOS

Experience with firmware development on Control Systems, PLCs, and RTUs

Experience with Databases, C#, .NET Core, Linux, Windows Application Programming

Ability to read hardware schematics and component datasheets
