We are looking for an experienced 3D Animator to join our Marketing Communication (MarCom) group based in Houston. The 3D animator will creatively produce high-quality, customer-facing animations and illustrations for the marketing department within Schlumberger. They should feel comfortable in all stages of the animation process from concept to delivery. They should be able to manage and meet target deadlines while working either independently or in a collaborative team environment. Projects can include but aren't limited to story focused overviews, technical demonstrations, animated illustrations/infographics and post-production work.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with multimedia and creative teams to develop concepts and communicate project plans to stakeholders
  • Recommend best animation approaches to meet project needs
  • Assist in the creation/review of scripts and storyboards
  • Utilize and modify CAD models
  • Shade, texture, light and animate 3d scenes
  • Create style frames and produce animatics for team reviews
  • Use creativity and artistry to effectively communicate a story in visual form
  • Produce animations/illustrations that meet or exceed client expectations in an agreed upon deadline
  • Effectively utilize and implement audio into projects to enhance viewer experience
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge about latest techniques
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines and quality standards

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer animation, fine arts, graphic design, or related field; or equivalent technical certificates with work experience
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Proficient in a 3D software package such as 3ds Max
  • Proficient with a 3D rendering engine such as V-Ray
  • Proficient in a post-production software package such as After Effects
  • Strong portfolio of 3D work
  • Attention to detail
  • Adaptable and flexible to project changes
  • Time management skills
  • Able to take direction
  • Communication and storytelling skills
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
