Job Description

The NL part of the southern North Sea including the Den Helder plant, is part of Shell's Onegas asset, organizationally it is part of the Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM, UPO/T). The NAM consists of three assets: two onshore assets, ('Groningen' and 'Land') and the offshore asset 'Onegas'. These assets are a critical Heartland for Shell production, with scope for field extension projects and infill / near-field opportunities.
The offshore One Gas asset operates some 90 fields across the Southern North Sea, both in NL (Onegas East) and UK (Onegas West)

We are currently looking for a Senior Process Engineer / Technologist who will be based in the central offices in Assen supporting the off-shore production platforms in the Dutch North-Sea sector that are part of the JDA Production Unit (Joint Development Area).

What is the role about?
The main goals of this position are to provide discipline expertise, day-to-day production and facility optimization support, as well as delivery of the HEMP improvement plan. The senior technologist will work closely directly with the Production Unit Manager and the WRFM (Well Reservoir and Facillities Management) lead on the larger challenges facing the JDA Production Unit.

You will be part of a team of ca 9 process engineers forming part of a wider team of ca 20 process engineers/technologist embedded in the asset's 6 production units. The team has a diversity of nationalities and backgrounds, day to day communication in the team is in English. For communication with operations, the desire to learn basic Dutch will be an advantage.

The Senior Process Technologist for the JDA cluster is an interesting position for an experienced engineer who enjoys being at the center of many different initiatives, ranging from operations support and process safety to production optimization.
In this role you will work in a small but highly effective WRFM team with lots of interdisciplinary interaction (including sub-surface) and have a clear site to your contribution to the bottom line of the Production Unit. It is also a position where you can further develop technical capabilities and exposure to day-to-day operations.

Currently the JDA platforms are supported by one senior and one junior Process Technologist. This position will strengthen the team due to the high level of activities going on in the Area. Current challenges in the JDA area are increasing platform availability, flow assurance and the electrification projects linking these systems to energy transition initiatives offshore.
