What's the role?
As Global Category Manager, you'll bring your contracting and procurement expertise to help optimise competitive commercial activities that support the IT category, covering 'Connectivity' and 'Productivity' and developing and delivering on contract strategy.
Pro-active and highly motivated, you'll thrive using your commercial experience to develop the very best supply chain and procurement tactics, always with a mind to how you can translate strategy into business outcomes. Your challenge will be to deliver on a range of commercial activities, from managing tenders and bids to driving negotiations, whilst you also identify opportunities for improvements within the market.
aturally, you'll be an excellent communicator, confident influencing and nurturing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. That means, understanding the commercial needs of internal teams, working with colleagues to collaboratively propose competitive solutions, and providing extensive coaching and support to other team members.

What we need from you
We're keen to hear from men and women with extensive, relevant experience in negotiating and managing high value contracts. Along with your Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or Engineering, and proven professional experience, we'd hope to also see the following on your CV:
- A good understanding of strategic, technical, legal, finance, taxation and commercial issues.
- An ability to cope with complexity and uncertainty, with proven adaptability skills.
- MCIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification will also be an advantage.
- Affinity with IT.
- Telecoms knowledge would be considered as a prerequiste.
