Safety, Health and Environment (SH&E)




Serves as a project and company resource to ensure corporate SH&E Programs are implemented and maintained. Instrumental in the management of field SH&E functions, incident and injury prevention, response and investigation.

  • Reports to and receives functional direction from Regional Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) Manager
  1. Supervision Exercised
  • Provides guidance, recommendations and functional direction to Project Supervision and Field personnel
  1. Contacts
  • Maintains contact with appropriate project representatives and Loss Prevention & Control Manager to ensure SH&E programs and performance meet a satisfactory level of customer, project and supervision expectations
  1. Principle Responsibilities
  • Ensures all company project, program and policy safety, health and environment requirements are being met on the projects for which he/she is responsible
  • Supports the investigation and management of incidents and injuries arising out of the project
  • Monitors safety, health and environmental performance throughout the project
  • Supports project security and public protection
  • Ensures that all new hires and existing employees receive required training and orientations
  • Manages project SH&E records and required documentation
  • Regularly communicates/updates project supervision
  • Completes project SH&E audits
  1. Job Knowledge
  • 0-5 years' experience
  • Working knowledge of safety, health and environment
  • Experience in industrial and heavy construction including project experience, training, program development and maintenance.
  • Education: High School Diploma, GED or can be any combination of formal education and relevant hands-on project experience. Experience in construction and underground, petro-chemical and/or transmission pipeline operations preferred. Must have extensive working knowledge of all major types of construction equipment and tools.
  • Must be familiar with all related SH&E requirements applicable to work in area of responsibility
  • Must be capable of training corporate programs, policies and procedures
  • Must be computer literate and able to use applicable software consistent with responsibilities
  • Must be able to work well within a team atmosphere
  • OSHA 500 certification preferred
