JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

  • Supervise accounting staff of approximately 3 - 5 accounting professionals responsible for several gas processing plants and gas & crude oil gathering systems/pipelines.
  • Supervise the plant accounting process, maintain the general ledger, coordinate daily accounting activities, perform month and quarter end analysis and reporting.
  • Analyze account balances and gross margin account activity at month end and approve account reconciliations, margin analysis, and SOX documentation.
  • Analyze department performance and identify opportunities to effectively implement process driven change/improvement.
  • Provide leadership and direction in managing the integrity of financial information and effectively working with commercial and other functional groups personnel, as necessary, to accomplish company, business unit and/or department goals/objectives.
  • Directly participate in the development and coaching of department employees to ensure the accomplishment of organization, team and individual objectives.
  • Review and update Sarbanes Oxley documentation and coordinate the performance of SOX testing, as required.
  • Actively lead and participate in special projects as requested.

 


MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance
· General ledger background, able to review, analyze and resolve G/L outstanding balances
· 5 years of experience in an energy related field, preferably midstream accounting
· Extensive knowledge of GAAP
· Strong analytical, problem solving and writing skills
· Must be proficient in Excel and Word
· Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
· Strong communication skills
· Regular and Reliable Attendance with ability and willingness to work overtime as needed during close and billing cycles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· CPA or CPA candidate
· 3+ years of public accounting or corporate accounting experience
· 3+ years of joint venture accounting experience
· Knowledge of gas processing/purchase contracts
· Experience in crude oil gathering accounting
· Familiar with Oracle Cloud Financials, RightAngle, and TIPS or Waterfield settlement systems
· Demonstrated ability to work in a deadline driven, fast-paced team environment
· Previous supervisory experience
