Chevron's Americas Products, Transportation & Operation (T&O) organization is responsible for petroleum product receipt, storage and distribution in 8 countries and nearly 50 storage terminals in the Americas. The T&O function provides a key link in the product supply chain between the manufacturing facilities, transportation service providers and the customers.

This is a safety sensitive position reporting to the Engineering Supervisor - West in Americas Products T&O.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for the development and execution of numerous Capital and Expense projects at terminal facilities:
    (a) Use a phase gate decision-making process in a fit for purpose manner, depending on project size and complexity, to ensure business case alignment and high decision quality
    (b) Achieve industry leading project outcomes - safety, quality, cost and schedule
    (c) Manage engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) firms to deliver fit for purpose project support
    (d) Comply with company and industry design standards for new and modified facility construction
    (e) Use project controls to enable predictable cost and schedule performance
  • Integral member of terminal power team, providing technical expertise and leadership to ensure terminals operate incident free, reliably and efficiently.
  • Responsible for implementation of reliability and efficiency processes
  • Manage contractors to ensure compliance with Contractor Health, Environment and Safety Management (CHESM) and Safe Work Practices to ensure incident and injury free execution of all projects
  • Typical projects may include: tanks and piping upgrades; pumping systems; emergency alarm and shutdown systems; vapor recovery systems; blending and additive injection systems; water treatment systems; safety/environmental compliance projects; power distribution; electronic process control; civil, structural and paving projects, etc.

  • Required Qualifications:
      • Education: B.S. Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering; minimum of 5 years relevant project/construction management experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
      • Demonstrated commitment to safety: takes personal responsibility for working safely and champions safe behaviors in contractors and others.
      • Minimum of 3 years Project Management experience in plant / industrial facilities
      • Strong written and verbal communications skills: able to work in and foster a strong team environment
      • Planning and organizational skills: high level of initiative and ability to multi-task; able to work independently on multiple projects at the same time and prioritize work effectively
      • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills: draws well-reasoned conclusions from available information and develops workable recommendations and solutions
      • Proficiency in basic office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.); aptitude for learning new systems required for position (safety, project controls, etc.)

    Preferred Qualifications:
      • Knowledge of or experience working in petroleum storage and handling facilities or related industrial facilities, and execution of projects in these facilities
      • Project Management training / Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
