Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision-making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions within the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) organization. May collect and analyze data and develop decision support software, service, or products. May develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation.


Formulate mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters.

Develop scientific or mathematical models.

Collaborate with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify management objectives.

Collaborate with others to resolve information technology issues.

Prepare management reports defining and evaluating problems and recommending solutions.

Document operational activities.

Study and analyze information about alternative courses of action to determine which plan will offer the best outcomes.

Analyze project data to determine specifications or requirements.

Specify manipulative or computational methods to be applied to models.

Determine appropriate methods for data analysis.

Perform validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy and reformulate models as necessary.

Develop scientific or mathematical models.

Define data requirements and gather and validate information, applying judgment and statistical tests.

Evaluate data quality.

Apply mathematical principles or statistical approaches to solve problems in scientific or applied fields.

Determine appropriate methods for data analysis.

Analyze information obtained from management to conceptualize and define operational problems.

Analyze data to identify or resolve operational problems.

Observe the current system in operation and gather and analyze information about each of the parts of component problems, using a variety of sources.

Conduct research to gain information about products or processes.

Troubleshoot issues with computer applications or systems.

Design, conduct, and evaluate experimental operational models in cases where models cannot be developed from existing data.

Design computer modeling or simulation programs.

Break systems into their component parts, assign numerical values to each component, and examine the mathematical relationships between them.

Apply mathematical principles or statistical approaches to solve problems in scientific or applied fields.

Analyze data to identify trends or relationships among variables.

Develop and apply time and cost networks to plan, control, and review large projects.

Develop detailed project plans.

Manage budgets for appropriate resource allocation.

 Develop business methods and procedures.

Apply information technology to solve business or other applied problems.




Graduate degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Data Science or Statistics.

5+ years of experience in an Operations Research role.

Professional knowledge of mathematical programming, data mining, statistical, econometric and other scientific methods and techniques.

Linear and Nonlinear Optimization, including evolutionary algorithms.

Experience and expertise with simulation, including Monte Carlo Simulation.

Quantitative skills, including calculus, linear algebra, modeling, probability, and general statistics.

Knowledge of machine learning, Markov process and other stochastic processes

5+ years of experience and expertise with Python, R, Analytics Solver Platform (ASP), Gurobi, SQL, and proficiency in developing prototype software applications.

Knowledge of Oracle Cloud S&OP system a plus.

Experience with multi-echelon inventory optimization.

Experience with demand forecasting and the S&OP cycle.

Track record of strong cross-functional leadership.

Leadership/participation of successful continuous improvement projects.

Experience interacting with and presenting to executive level management.

Ability to implement training.

Ability to quickly and correctly prioritize tasks.

Ability to summarize and effectively and simply communicate the output of complex analysis.
