~HMT is looking for a detail-oriented Estimator who will create accurate estimates for our Above Ground Storage Tank projects. The Estimator is responsible for creating accurate estimates by understanding Request for Quote documents and requirements, gathering information and analyzing important metrics.
You should have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset, and also be thorough and apt in managing relationships with key persons. You should have experience in the Above Ground Storage Tank industry.
Review and analyze the project and its requirements
Prepares work to be estimated by gathering request for quotes, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.
Perform data analysis, forecasting and budgeting with the help of appropriate software
Collect and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
Analyze risk and develop estimates based on your analysis results
Prepare estimate reports or bids and present them to appropriate persons, such as project managers, clients or bidding competitions
Participate in planning of schedules, manpower needs etc., providing your consultation
High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Project.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Above Ground Storage Tank industry
In depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas
Strong communication skills-written and verbal
Detail-oriented, Excellent organizational skills
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment screenings, i.e. background and drug screen.
Position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull 50. lbs., bending, kneeling, walking, and sitting.
