JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Business Analyst who will be the vital link between our information technology capacity and our business objectives by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of analytical, building, testing and deployment tasks of our business intelligence (Microsoft Power BI) environment. 

Business Analysts are responsible for understanding business processes, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and translating approved solutions into technical specifications and/or procedural modifications that can be implemented against the various applications that support those business processes.  Business Analysts are the liaison between the business unit and IT development and support functions. They proactively communicate and collaborate with their customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements. They also collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs. They have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Define configuration specifications and business analysis requirements

Define reporting and alerting requirements

Own and develop relationship with business partners, working with them to optimize and enhance BI visualizations and integrations

Working with Supply Chain/Procurement and/or Opportunity to Cash business sponsors. 

Help design, document and maintain system processes

Report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to product team

Communicate key insights and findings to product team

Constantly be on the lookout for ways to improve monitoring, discover issues and deliver

better value to the customer

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

5-8+ year's business experience in Business / Systems Analysis or Quality Assurance

Education: Bachelor's degree from accredited university in business, MIS, or equivalent field. Additional years' experience can be used to substitute for degree.

Must have experience with Supply Chain/Procurement or Opportunity to Cash/Sales cycles, metrics, and processes

Proven experience in eliciting requirements and testing

Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions in data visualization techniques and tools

Solid experience in writing SQL queries

Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills

Must reside in or near the Houston TX area.  

Preferred: 

Solid experience in writing SQL queries

Prior experience with date visualization tool.  ie.... Microsoft power BI, QlikView, Cognos, etc.
