Position Summary and Objectives
Full-time position supporting the Military Program Manager. Involves overseeing BV inspectors and observing the construction of new and renovated hotels & residential homes constructed on various military installations around the U.S. Purpose is to represent the Owner, Lender, and DoD in ensuring the quality of their projects.
Includes travel to military installations to observe construction, as well as the following duties:
Overseeing BV Inspectors in...
verifying that construction conforms to the design team's construction documents, as well as applicable building codes and guidelines. Typical applicable codes include the International Building, Mechanical, and Electrical codes, ABA/ADA/UFAS Accessibility Guidelines, DoD UFC requirements, and others as required
reviewing material submittals and shop drawings for conformance with the construction documents
monitoring contractor's construction schedule
conducting observations of the work (including initial, ongoing, follow-up and completion inspections)
monitoring, composing, and verifying completion of punch lists
reviewing contractor RFI's
reviewing and approving contractor pay applications and change orders
monitoring and managing project closeout procedures
Inner office support for Program Manager to include the following duties:
Corresponding with Clients via phone, email, and text messaging
Providing excellent customer service and response times
Approving travel expenses & reimbursements for the team
Assisting with interview processes for additional team members
Working with Project Coordinator to direct and guide BV plan reviewers
Performing, reviewing and approving monthly reports and presentations
Other tasks as directed by Client and/or Program Manager
Minimum Qualifications and Education
Experience in managing and/or observing construction projects as a licensed architect, superintendent, project manager, construction manager, or similar role, specifically during the construction documents and construction administration phases of a project
Bachelor's degree in the construction or design field
Minimum 8 years of experience in the design and/or construction industry, 5 years in construction administration role focusing on Construction Documents and Administration, Payment Applications, Change Orders, RFIs, Submittals, Punch Lists, Project Closeout, among others
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, as well as general computer skills
Must have valid, state issued driver license
Must be able to pass a criminal background check performed by the DoD at each installation. No specific "military clearance" is required
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
General office setting, based in Plano, TX
25%-50% travel to various military installations around the country
Construction job site trailers
On-site construction observations...walking on dirt, gravel, uneven surfaces, climbing stairs/ladders, etc.
