DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be responsible for drilling optimization engineering technical support. Read and interpret downhole mechanical tool technical drawings to optimize drilling engineering software calculations relating to torque & drag (T&D) and hydraulics. Develop and implement Well Engineering solutions with regard to tool selection for projects to realize ideas and plans through the Well Engineering and Project Management process. Provide real-time decision support to the drilling team to maximize drilling efficiency and minimize risk while achieving the well objective. Assist Drilling and Evaluation team in post-well root-cause analysis with regard to mechanical tool operation and T&D, hydraulic optimization, Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) components and placement and anti-collision processes utilizing specialty drilling mechanics software. Develop and implement fully embed performance enabling methods. Ensure Geozone key wells are delivered on time and budget, meeting all success measures with specific attention paid to implementation of operation procedures and technical limits of downhole tools, BHA components and positioning. Perform directional well planning, torque and drag analysis, hydraulics calculations, and BHA analysis on all well types including new application and complex wells in order to design effective methods to deploy drilling and completion services to ensure trouble-free installations. Perform and coach others with offset well analysis, hazard identification and risk control. Participate in tender responses. Provide detailed analytical reports to management.
Bachelor's degree in relevant Engineering field and minimum 3 years of experience in well planning engineering position working on well plan design, BHA and hydraulics analysis and anti-collision processes utilizing specialty drilling mechanics software.
