Performs varied activities in the Vendor Maintenance process, including setup and management of supplier records for the approved vendor list , routing vendor addition and change request documentation for approvals, providing vendor addition and change guidance to field buyers and Materials Managers, and contributing to process enhancement initiatives.
Oversee the setup, maintenance, and supporting files for vendor records.
Provide guidance to and coordinate with distributed supply chain, operations, engineering, ADTI, CMI and Transocean Solutions personnel to ensure vendor additions and changes are consistent with departmental objectives.
Liaise with Risk Management and Accounts Payables in reviewing vendor insurance and bank details
Route vendor addition and approval requests to appropriate management for approval.
Input vendor details as new records or changes to existing records in management system.
Work with Supervisor, Vendor Contracts to improve the vendor maintenance process.
Assist Accounts Payable personnel in resolving Non-PO Invoices requiring new vendor additions.
Communicate queries and information for the assigned geographical regions using e-mail.
Promptly respond to field status inquiries
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, preferably with additional college or business school hours.
2-3 years in vendor management or procurement position.
Skill in operating windows based tools and Enterprise based procurement and inventory software.
Possess interpersonal skills to maintain an excellent working relationship with co-workers using good judgment. Able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and able to consistently meet or exceed deadline requirements while adhering to prescribed routines and practices. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Highly motivated, self-starter.
Job requires employee to follow generally defined procedures. Decisions are made about common problems that come up frequently. Independent thinking is required.
