Our Client is looking for a Contracts Specialist on a contract basis, location in Aberdeen.

 

ROLE

  • Ensure that all contracting and procurement activities are executed in line with the Company processes and procedures
  • Coordinate activities to ensure that contracts and agreements are placed in order to meet business requirements and support ongoing activities
  • Ensure that cost-effective and high performing contracts and agreements are delivered and managed in a professional and ethical manner
  • Ensure Company is not exposed to unnecessary contractual or commercial risk
  • Manage the procurement interface with Contractors, Suppliers, Consultants and Company in a professional and ethical manner

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Champion HSE in all procurement activities
  • Responsible for implementation of company procurement standards, work processes and best practices in UK within Operations and Drilling teams
  • Plan, conduct and conclude complex contract negotiations
  • Prioritise tender schedules and manage workload to meet business requirements
  • Leads the tendering and evaluation process and makes recommendations to management
  • Prepare detailed Recommendation to Award papers and presentations where required
  • Draft agreements using standard templates
  • Contract management from kick off to close out
  • Provide contractual advice, support and interpretation to Operations and Drilling teams
  • Lead complex negotiations
  • Lead claim and dispute teams ensuring positive outcomes where applicable
  • Develop and implement supplier relationship performance management plans
  • Work closely with stakeholders in order to understand their needs and requirements through good communication and collaboration
  • Build and maintain network and relationships with business and regulatory partners relevant to our operated activities in the UK to secure necessary resources to achieve objectives
  • Monitor the external environment in order to identify and take advantage of immediate business opportunities to improve results within defined area of responsibility

REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant university degree qualification
  • Professionally qualified i.e. CIPS
  • Typically a minimum of 10 years' experience from a relevant field/ discipline Operations and/or Drilling
  • Significant, in-depth knowledge and experience of contracts, conditions and conventions prevalent in the UKCS arena
  • Demonstrable experience of tendering, awarding and managing high risk, high value contracts and procurement across a range of requirements
  • Experienced in developing contract strategies, which have delivered overall value to the business
  • A strong understanding of stakeholders and their interests.
  • Sophisticated direct and indirect influencing skills.
