Our Client is looking for a Life Cycle Well Engineer - Subsea P&A on a contract basis, location in Aberdeen.

 

ROLE

Purpose: To develop subsea well abandonment programmes and procedures for a 25-well campaign to be performed from a semi-submersible rig. A working knowledge of subsea intervention and completion equipment is preferred.

HSE: Provide exemplary HS&E Leadership in support for all subsea well abandonment activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all activities adhere to the client Well Management System (WMS)
  • Ensure the client's policies and procedures are adhered to in all phases of well operations
  • Prepare Well Abandonment programmes/end of well reports
  • Co-ordinate inputs from service providers and specialists
  • Acting focal point for the preparation of all relevant permits and ensure compliance with UK legislation
  • Develop an understanding of operational risks, ensuring appropriate mitigations and contingencies are identified
  • Planning of operations with due regard to safety of personnel, the environment and equipment
  • Review of existing well data across the asset well stock as input to well abandonment programmes
  • Organising and leading Peer Reviews for well abandonment designs
  • Providing support to the operations team to deliver the well abandonment programme

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Engineering degree.
  • Have relevant experience planning subsea well abandonments, preferably with operational and offshore exposure.
  • Knowledge of UKCS permit requirements (e.g. Chemical Permit, Consent to Locate).
  • Knowledge of UKCS Well Decommissioning Guidelines.
