Seeking a generalist in environmental, health and safety to provide onsite environmental compliance support in the following areas: local, state, and federal regulations and permits related to air, water, hazardous waste, and hazardous materials management. Under general direction, perform low to moderate level field data gathering and administer simple training/fit-testing and maintenance of safety equipment including industrial hygiene and radioactive devices. May be called upon to apply a general knowledge of chemistry to the review of safety data sheets. The position would be outsourced on a full time basis to a Bureau Veritas aerospace client located in Sunnyvale, California.
Self-starter with a positive attitude and with a willingness to work closely with others. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint and Project Management. Ability to successfully execute technical projects with moderate direct supervision. Interact with all levels of staff/clients/contractors in a professional manner. Has interpreted project results and provided recommendations. Competent in writing progressively complex reports. Ability to understand instructions and to communicate findings, issues, and recommendations clearly. Ability to gather and analyze facts and data, draw correct inferences from the information, weigh alternatives and present logical solutions to problems. Ability to present information in a clear, concise, organized and diplomatic manner; ask appropriate questions in order to obtain information. Ability to plan, execute projects to scope, within budget and within timeframe.
Preferred environmental compliance and/or consulting experience demonstrated by knowledge of relevant standards, guidelines, and California regulations. Experience with reviewing local, state, and federal regulations and permits related to air, water, hazardous waste, and hazardous materials management. California experience is required .
Level of Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Environmental or Science or related field.
Years of Experience:
1 - 3 years of general environmental, health and safety experience.
