Summary

The Top Drive Technician is responsible for performing regularly scheduled inspections while minimizing unnecessary costs and maximizing safety and efficiency of the Top Drive system

 

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic problems
  • Minimize downtime through preventive maintenance
  • Rig up and remove top drives in a safe and organized manner
  • Maintain the spare parts inventory and ensure spares meet safe operating standards
  • Stock necessary parts for scheduled maintenance
  • Address concerns and provide viable solutions and alternatives
  • Propose recommendations on maintenance systems management
  • Train personnel on proper operation and maintenance
  • Uphold Precision's safety standards at all times

 

Knowledge & Skills

Has a valid Driver's License and Reliable Transportation

Ability to work at heights

Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision

Excellent planning and organizing skills

Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Positive, employee-focused attitude and superior customer service

Fall Arrest, First Aid, H2S, WHMIS

 

Education

High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent

Vocational or trade school graduate preferred

ASE certification or journeyman's license preferred

 

Experience

Experience in repairing mechanical and/or electrical equipment required

Previous experience in Oilfield Services Industry preferred
