The Area HSE and Quality Instructor is a support position intended to facilitate the delivery of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental training to ensure the highest standards are met with regard to internal and external requirements. This position is responsible for all aspects of coordination, setup, and delivery of HSE and Quality training courses.


Oversee and assist in all facets of HSE and Quality training including training development, delivery and management of training and training programs within their assigned area.

Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of skills level HSE and Quality training based on job descriptions and needs assessments. (i.e. Overhead Crane, Forklift, Man Lift, etc.)

Identify and coordinate resources needed to effectively develop, deliver and maintain the HSE compliance and Quality training in the area for all Weatherford employees.

Ensure common HSE and Quality training standards are implemented throughout the area.

Conduct evaluations of Geozone HSE and Quality training to ensure compliance with Corporate, Regulatory and external customer standards.

Must understand and comply with all HSE and Quality rules and company policies of Weatherford.

Interacts with both internal and external customers with regards to HSE and Quality on behalf of Weatherford.

Effectively communicate internal, legislative, and customer requirements and industry best practices to ALL levels of Weatherford.

Assist in the completion of area HSE and Quality Competency goals, reporting, and evaluations of set goals.  Assists in facilitating assessor training, and implementation of programs.

Assist the area in the delivery of approved training that meets Weatherford, regulatory and customer requirements



Ability to analyze and apply safety codes, OSHA, EPA, state health regulations, hazardous materials, and emergency preparedness

Strong leadership & interpersonal skills

Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Conflict resolution skills and problem solving ability

Excellent organizational and presentation skills

Computer skills that would facilitate material development of new technology for delivery efficiencies

4+  years QHSSE-relevant experience

Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft computer software including Word, PowerPoint, Excel

Ability to coordinate required tasks on own initiative

Ability to communicate effectively and multitask

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations

Willingness to work unconventional hours and travel as required within the US Geozone and at the direction of management

Acceptable driving record as per HR Guidelines / Policy

Travel as required within the US Geozone, up to 20%

Reside within a 50 mile radius of Odessa/Midland area


Previous training management experience

Previous technical writing experience

Previous graphic design experience

Previous Adult Education experience

Post-secondary, education, preferably in the sciences or specific to Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental, Adult Education, Technical Writing, Graphic Design

Member of an international training organization (i.e. American Society of Training Development - ASTD, National Environmental, Safety, and Health Training Association - NESHTA

Working knowledge of Microsoft Visio, Publisher, and Adobe Acrobat Pro

IADC® approved RigPass® Instructor

Medic First Aid CPR Approved Instructor
