The Distribution Operations Manager is responsible for the execution and implementation of standard processes for all facility warehouse and outsourced distribution center activities in the US. These activities include storage/ safeguarding of inventory and shipment/document preparation and other warehouse activities that enable transportation and delivery of goods around the geographical spheres of Weatherford's operations. Is a key stakeholder in planning the distribution network to optimize product flow, material availability and ensure that all distribution centers have sufficient inventory to meet operation demands. The position is responsible for ensuring that the Distribution Centers utilize best in class distribution and consolidation processes to drive lowest cost, on-time and damage free delivery.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
HSSE Leadership - Set and lead by example through actively promoting the 8 GEMS
Demonstrate an active understanding of environmental issues
Ensures that all distribution and facility activities abide by all environmental legislation as well as all Weatherford Health and Safety processes and policies
Understand and comply with all Weatherford Quality Policies, the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
Develops and implements best in class warehousing and distribution processes
Ensures that distribution and warehousing processes are consistent across the US, and in line with Global operations.
Develops and monitors standard policies related to the distribution function
Drives best in class distribution and warehousing execution
Investigates and where required deliver system solutions that deliver manual process automation and connectivity to the partner base across the enterprise
Analyses market trends, internal cost and productivity data to identify areas of improvement
Makes recommendations for changes to policy, processes, works instructions and infrastructure
Liaises with Country and product line management regarding performance of distribution centers and facility activities
Support any relevant investigations into perceived failures within distribution function that has resulted in client complaints or failures to meet operation requirements that may or may not have resulted in lost revenue, damage to equipment or injury to personnel
When required engage with senior client representatives to address client concerns and complaints when linked with poor delivery performance either in terms of schedule or quality of customer service, condition of equipment
Monitor distribution functions performance against financial key performance indicators including cost of infrastructure, services, personnel, systems and equipment
Monitor and evaluate warehousing services, assess vendors performance, assist in negotiating contracts and / or supply agreements in conjunction with other relevant Weatherford functions
Drive inventory discipline and best practice across distribution & facility operations
Drive execution of inventory levels and balancing efforts by plan function
Responsible for the coaching and development of all distribution personnel
Strong leadership abilities and adept to responding quickly to changing, sometimes urgent situations
Analytical, computer and communication skills
Leadership, coaching or mentoring skills
Demonstrated knowledge of distribution systems - physical and digital
Demonstrated experience in outsourced and insourced distribution models
Demonstrates written, verbal and presentation skills; credible with internal stakeholders and external audiences in English.
Work-related experience required in Warehouse or Inventory Management and supply chain distribution
Experience managing warehouses and distribution network consisting of outsourced and in sourced activities.
Advanced analytical and operational execution management skills
Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required
Strong ability to multi-task and work in fast pace demanding environment.
Strong written and communication skills
Must reside in or near the Houston TX area.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management, Master's degree a plus
Six Sigma Green belt and APICS Logistics Certification
Oil and gas background strongly preferred
