Develop broad knowledge and skills in a specific practice area. Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features. Collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments. Works on small projects or portions of larger projects.


Performs moderate design tasks. Prepares portions of project documents, edits specifications and performs research and investigations.

Assigns tasks to and coordinates work with entry-level engineers, technicians or administrative staff. Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements.

Receives instruction on specific objectives. Receives direction on unconventional and/or complex problems and possible solutions. Receives a thorough review of completed work for application of sound professional judgment.

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

Perform other duties safely as required by Supervisor within the physical constraints of the job, and under minimal or no supervision.

Understand and comply with all Safety and Environmental requirements and company policies of Weatherford.

Know and understand Weatherford's Enterprise Excellence Process and the Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.



Perform fundamental engineering tasks within the established Product Development Process.  These tasks include but are not limited to, strength of material problems, stress analysis, simple torque, tension, and compression problems: simple static and dynamics problems; material selections, cost estimation and tolerance studies.

Perform project management tasks such as developing project plan and costs, developing testing procedures and schedules, co-ordinate with other Engineers, draftsmen, test technicians, purchasing, and product line management.  Prepares reports on the project status and results of the project.  Prepares and maintains project documentation such as design review minutes, tests reports, design files, project inputs and outputs, and project costs.

Possesses effective oral and written communication skills. Assists with client, customer, or official contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.

Proven technical problem-solving ability.

Willingness to learn new skills.

Beginner to Intermediate level skills with Pro-E, Microsoft Office Suite, Mechanical, AutoCad, MathCad.

Industry awareness attainable through internships within the industry.

Willing to travel locally as required to liaise with Manufacturing, Product Line Management, Sales, Customers or Vendors.

Willing and able to work in a rapidly changing environment.

Willing to travel internationally to support product development testing or Product Line Engineering efforts.

Demonstrated communication skills and a willingness to work in an engineering team environment

Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program or international equivalent. Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
