SUMMARY: The role of Laboratory Analyst, West Texas Region performs routine laboratory testing, sample pickup/transportation and recording and reporting of certificate of analysis data.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Sample pickup at customer site
- Sample transportation
- Perform routine analytical testing
- Document and train others in routine analytical methods.
- Ability to test and work in several locations in western Texas and eastern New Mexico
- Supply inventory and ordering
- To carry out the above responsibilities, and all others, which may be assigned, in a manner demonstrating support for and adherence to the Company's Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Policy and Procedures, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision and Strategy, and to exercise good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy in so doing.
- Approximately 30% travel is required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- One plus year experience with petroleum testing or equivalent.
- ASTM D86, D56, D5705, D6377 experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to client personnel Ability to pass safety and DOT training, as well as other job related training, is required..
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to properly interpret technical reports related to chemicals and their properties. Ability to interpret scientific formulas.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, AND REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver license required.
