SUMMARY: Performs laboratory gas chromatography method development, diagnostics, and troubleshooting required for third party testing and special project analyses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPSONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be designated based on the business requirements.
- Performs and advises personnel in GC repairs and test procedures
- Responsible for and assisting in advanced troubleshooting.
- Confers with scientists, engineers and vendors to conduct analyses, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard diagnostic tests to make GC repairs.
- Tests and analyzes sample products while in the test validation stage of instrument repairs.
- Investigates complaints on existing instrument and software problems on a daily basis while managing multiple ongoing projects.
- Laboratory test method development; establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet standard test methods.
- Recommends measures to improve testing procedures, use of equipment, and specifies new analytical test instrumentation.
- Responsible for maintaining proper inventory of supplies required in operation of the technical services and support team.
- Support development of the technical services and support team.
- Other duties as assigned by management

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree, or Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum of 10+ years related instrument repair, design and testing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Shall posses the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Shall posses the ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedures, and test methods. Shall posses the ability to effectively present technical information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Shall posses the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Shall posses the ability to interpret technical reports related to chemicals and their properties. Shall posses the ability to follow electronic schematics and perform system diagnostics. Shall posses the ability to interpret scientific formulas.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and with explosive material and can be regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk radiation.
The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. When required, the proper personal protective equipment shall be used, accordingly.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Shall be available on short notice to travel to any Inspectorate America Corporation office or laboratory in the process of providing technical support. The travel related to work shall be dependent upon Inspectorate America Corporation's business requirements and could be up to 80%..
