SUMMARY: To work in co-ordination with Operations Manager, Senior Operations Co-coordinator and Laboratory team performing tasks for the Precious Metals Operations team and general office duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following.

Daily activities of the PM Operations/ Assay Coordinator includes:
  • Liaising closely with both the Laboratory and Operations Teams
  • Communicating job progress and answering customer queries in a clear and concise manner, both by email and telephone.
  • Producing certificates, reports and invoices in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Understand and perform Assay Exchanges and prepare appropriate settlement sheets
  • Interpreting assay results/reports and taking appropriate actions.
  • Setting up new appointments and entering on the in house system
  • Record keeping


The candidate will be expected to think independently and be able to work with little direction. A high level of numeracy, accuracy and organization are qualities in which the candidate will be expected to excel. As a part of an ISO certified company, the candidate must adhere to the requirements and regulations which are set in place.

General filing and other administrative duties will be assigned when required.

The successful applicant will be required to possess strong computer skills and be familiar with and work unsupervised in programs, such as, but not limited to Excel, Word & Outlook, as these are an integral part of the daily activities for the PM Ops/Assay Coordinator. Microsoft Office is one program where intermediate to advanced knowledge is required. Training will be given on in house and other programs.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum High school Diploma, Degree from an accredited college or university in Business or related field is preferred but not necessary and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

The successful applicant will have the ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Strong communication skills are absolutely necessary in one to one situation, small groups and with clients.

English is the primary requirement, a second language although desirable is not essential.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Strong numeracy skills are required with a minimum ability to confidently add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to operate a Computer and learn company specific computer software programs. Must have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office - specifically Excel (minimum of intermediate knowledge).
