JOB DESCRIPTION

At the direction of the US Legal Operational Manager, the Contract Specialist will work on a wide range of contracting activities within the complete contract lifecycle, from planning through post-execution contract management. This position will work in close cooperation with, and in support of, legal, contract management, category management, and internal stakeholders.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Contract review and negotiations with customers for rendering of services, equipment selling, leasing of equipment and software license.

Review of contracts and other document related to property selling, purchase or leasing.

Ensure the proper approval and execution of transactions consistent with Weatherford global policies and procedures.

Aid in the analysis and response to claims from clients and/or vendors.

Assist the different product lines to ensure compliance with Weatherford policies and protocols.

Train Weatherford personnel regarding risk allocations and/or transactions protocols.

Ensure and assist in contract database management, maintenance and archiving.

Other duties as assigned.

Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in legal, business, or other relevant area of study

Relevant contract work experience directly related to the scope of the position, including proven experience with moderately complex agreements and in assisting attorneys in contracting

Experience drafting and editing contracts

Experience managing 25 contracts or more at a time 

Contract review and negotiations experience

Proficient IT skills in particular, Microsoft Word, and Excel and other Microsoft Windows packages

Proficient usage of e-mail and internet packages

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Good organizational and time keeping skills

Self-starter with a positive attitude

Ability to work alone and in a team

Good business acumen and professionalism

Meticulous attention to detail

Must reside in or near Houston TX area. 

Preferred:

Experience in oil and gas industry

Proficient in SharePoint 2010

Experience with contract management software

Use of E-Docs

Use of Sales Force
