As Category Manager - Global Car Lease, you will get the chance to stretch your commercial instincts and make a real mark on our business strategy. You'll be managing supply chain agreements, getting the best value for Shell from complex strategies and deals, keeping abreast of supplier developments and identifying market opportunities. All with an impact on commercial performance.
In practice that means you'll be leading on category management for the lease or purchase contracts of light vehicles. Actively influencing spend and demand globally, driving cost saving targets, and implementing safety processes and practices, whilst helping to define a strategy that meets business priorities, standards and HR policies. More specific duties will include integrating category management with procurement delivery, and prioritizing and optimizing workplans.
To succeed, you'll need to thrive working globally, delivering multiple contracts. Key to this, will be your excellent people skills, and your flair for influencing a variety of internal and external stakeholders at every level. We'll be looking to you to nurture highly collaborative relationships, from suppliers and fleet management companies to colleagues within HR, Business, and Road Safety.Where you fit in
You'll be part of Contracting and Procurement (C&P), sitting within the Functions and Technologies (F&T) team, which focuses on delivering C&P expertise and a competitive supply chain for HR services, Real Estate Facilities Management and Projects, Travel and Corporate Finance and Legal.

Hands-on and results-focused, you'll have extensive experience within contracting and procurement, combining operational skills with a strong commercial mindset and a natural fluency in business. We'd also expect to see a Bachelor's degree, preferably within Business, Finance or Logistics. Plus, a professional qualification from the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) would be an advantage, but is not essential.

- Proven experience in contract negotiations and complex tender evaluation.
- Good understanding of strategic, technical, fleet, finance and commercial issues.
- Proven ability to focus on tangible value outcomes, translating strategy to outcomes.
- Knowledge and proven implementation of HSSE, ethics and compliance.
- Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to adapt and navigate challenging situations
